The Level 4 – Certificate in Hotel and Catering Supervision is a one (1) year and three (3) months entry-level qualification designed to provide students with an overall understanding of the hotel and catering industries. It allows them to explore and identify where their passions and interests are so that they can go on to specialize in more specialist disciplines of their choice in the industry.
The course is highly structured to cover all the core operational disciplines in the hotel and catering industry, i.e. Culinary Arts & Pastry/Food Production, Food and Beverage Service, Front Office Operations, and Housekeeping & Laundry Operations, key areas required to appreciate the way the industries work. The knowledge, skills, and competencies gained act as great starting points for those who wish to secure entry-level positions in the hotel and catering industry.
Upon completion of the course, graduates are able to work as cooks, waiters/waitresses, bartenders, room stewards, receptionists/guest relations agents, conference and banqueting staff, as well as a wide range of back-of-the-house roles.
Students who complete the Certificate Level can also use it as a pathway to advance their study to a Diploma in Hospitality Management by opting into the management level for an additional one (1) year and three (3) months.
